Ogres are walking mountains of muscle, fat, and appetite. Ten feet tall, five feet wide, and always, always hungry. They came from the east when a comet tore open the Great Maw and tried to swallow their ancestors. The ones who didn’t get eaten crawled out, looked at the hole full of teeth, and decided that was a pretty good god to follow. Now they roam the world in tribes, eating everything that doesn’t eat them first and hiring out as the most expensive (and effective) mercenaries money can buy.

Overview

If you want to play a walking siege engine who solves diplomacy with a club the size of a tree and whose life philosophy is “If it moves, hit it. If it stops moving, eat it,” welcome to the tribe.

Appearance

Picture a hairy, pot-bellied avalanche with tusks and a bad attitude. Skin thick as rhino hide, gut like a battering ram protected by a massive iron gutplate hammered with trophies. Tiny piggy eyes, broken nose, mouth full of jagged teeth that have bitten through steel. Hair and beards in greasy braids, decorated with bones, coins, and the occasional still-screaming goblin.

Culture & Society

  • Regions: Mountains of Mourn and anywhere the food ran out yesterday.
  • Culture: Eat, fight, get paid, repeat.
  • Names: Braggoth Gutmuncher, Skrag the Slaughterer, Golgfag Maneater, Ghobbleshanks, Braglob One-Eye.
  • Religion: The Great Maw wants feeding. Everything else is details.

Morality, Slavery, and Corruption

  • Slavery: Rare. Ogres focus on strength and survival; they may capture others for food or labor, but structured slavery is uncommon.
  • Non-consent sexual relationships: Practically irrelevant except as pragmatic or dominance-driven; Ogres are largely governed by appetite and survival instincts rather than morality.
  • Vulnerability to Chaos corruption: Moderate. Ogres’ focus on personal gain and hunger can make them susceptible to Slaanesh or Nurgle influence, though brute strength often shields them from subtle manipulation.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Strengths: Physically immense, resilient, and terrifying in combat; can endure harsh conditions; self-reliant and opportunistic.
  • Weaknesses: Gluttonous, easily bored, not very subtle or clever; driven by appetite and greed, which can be exploited by enemies.

Playing an Ogre

You have two moods: hungry and angry (usually both). Speech is short, loud, and smells of onions. Problems are solved by hitting them until they become food or treasure. A Tyrant rules by having the biggest gut and the meanest club. A Butcher rips open reality with a cleaver and pulls out spells the way a chef pulls ribs off a carcass. A Maneater has fought for every army in the world and stolen the best bits of all of them.

Loyalty lasts exactly until someone offers more meat.

Physical Appearance

Ten feet of hairy, scarred, grinning destruction. Gutplate the size of a wagon wheel, club made from an entire tree, pockets full of half-eaten “snacks.” When an Ogre charges, the ground shakes and smart people run.

Gender Roles & Sexuality

Gender Roles

  • Ogre society is patriarchal, brutal, and hierarchical. Strength and size determine status, with the largest and strongest males dominating leadership, raiding, and social hierarchy.
  • Leaders: Male ogres generally hold power as warlords, chiefs, or enforcers. They command tribes and mercenary bands, and their authority is based on physical dominance and combat prowess.
  • Females: Female ogres exist but are smaller, less aggressive, and rarely involved in leadership or raiding. They mostly handle domestic tasks, raise young, and provide sustenance for their groups.
  • Commoners: Both male and female ogres participate in basic survival activities, but males dominate hunting, combat, and social leadership.

Sexuality

  • Ogres reproduce sexually, and sexual behavior is strongly tied to physical dominance and pragmatism rather than romance or affection.
  • Mating: Larger, dominant males generally have preferential access to females within their group. Reproduction is practical, ensuring strong offspring who can survive harsh environments.
  • Taboos: Sexual norms are minimal, but weaker males may have little reproductive opportunity. Consensual behavior is pragmatic; sexual relationships rarely involve emotional attachment.

Attitudes toward Other Races (Sexualized)

  • Ogres are opportunistic and often hostile toward other races. Sexualized attitudes exist only in crude, dominance-oriented ways:
  • Humans: Humans may be prey, slaves, or objects of intimidation. Sexualized exploitation is rare but may occur in mercenary or war contexts.
  • Elves: Female elves may be fetishized for beauty, but such encounters are exceptional and framed as dominance fantasies. Male elves are mostly ignored or mocked.
  • Dwarfs: Dwarfs are respected for toughness but may be prey in some contexts; sexualization is uncommon.
  • Greenskins: Orcs and goblins may be fought, hunted, or raided; sexualized interaction is minimal.
  • Sexualized depictions are typically crude, rare, and tied to power or domination rather than mutual desire.

Notable Cultural Nuances

  • Ogre society is dominated by strength, size, and combat ability, with males leading almost all social, military, and political activity.
  • Female ogres exist but have minimal influence and serve mostly reproductive and domestic roles.
  • Sexuality is practical and dominance-oriented, focused on ensuring strong offspring rather than pleasure or romance.
  • Interactions with other races may involve intimidation, predation, or crude sexual exploitation, but such cases are rare and opportunistic.
