Players can earn Prestige points that are recorded and stored as a persistent account value. Prestige is used as a currency for long-term progression, including racial skill tree advancement and unlocking special perks through the map.
The Irontide Crew is not rushing future Prestige purchases such as New Game+ characters and special items. These rewards are intended to be meaningful and lore-driven, not simple PvP upgrades. When these items are introduced, they will have unique effects and rich lore behind them.
Prestige gains are recorded in the Irontide database and persist across wipes and updates.
Players can track their current Prestige and its sources in the Stats window in the top right section of their character menu.
What Prestige Can Be Used For
- Progressing racial skill trees
- Acquiring special perks through the map
- Future content, including New Game+ characters and special lore-driven items
Prestige Sources
| Source | Description |
|---|---|
| PvP | Earned from major raids and significant PvP scenarios. Also rewarded to players who prove honorable in their fights. |
| PvE | Earned from completing special dungeons or weekly PvE content. This content encourages participation that enriches the experience of other players. |
| Events | Earned for participation or outcomes in Lorekeeper-organized events. Lorekeepers have a Prestige budget per event. Hosts of player-run events may also receive Prestige as recognition for their effort. |
| Passive | Earned through overall activity on the server, daily logins, per-update gifts, and returning player catch-up bonuses. |
| Special | Reserved for administrative use. May be granted or removed for bug fixes or other non-game-related Prestige operations. |
| Past Life | Prestige from a deleted character is applied when the player creates another character and functions as inheritance. |
Design Intent
The Prestige system exists to provide mechanical recognition for behavior that supports the server’s vision.
- Prestige is not intended to be a grindable resource.
- Players should not plan play sessions around farming Prestige for future purchases.
- Prestige acts as a measure of contribution, participation, and positive impact on the community and roleplay experience.
